Elizabeth Straughan married Claibourne Cash, son of Warren Cash and Susanna Baskett, in 1803 at Shelby County, Kentucky. Elizabeth Straughan died on 15 November 1873 at Howe Valley, Hardin County, Kentucky, at age 88.

     Curtis Joseph Strode Curtis Strode, sec. 23, Farmers’ tp; P. O., Bernadotte; was born April 6, 1850, in this county, son of Thomas Strode, of Farmers’ tp., to whom we mention further on. Mr. Strode was educated in the common schools, and reared on a farm. He is now a farmer and stock-raiser in good circumstances in this township, and owns 100 acres of land. He was married, Sept. 28, 1870, to Alice A. Overton, daughter of Francis L. Overton, of Bernadotte tp., who came to Fulton county about the year 1835. They had one little girl, Emma, who died Feb. 2, 1878.
