     He From Margaret Shepherd Hedrick - Uncle Everitt was magnetic and charming. He died in World War II. He was a pilot, captured in the South Pacific by the Japanese, after his plane was shot down. They were flying him to a prisoner of war camp in Japan, and he attacked his captors. During the fight he was stabbed, and thrown out of the plane.

     Zoe Scranton was born on 9 April 1874 at Columbus, Cherokee County, Kansas. She was the daughter of William L. Scranton and Alice Mary Weir. Zoe Scranton married George Hudson in 1894 at Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.1 Zoe Scranton married Jessee Ernest Fate, son of James Martin Fate and Mary Ellen Douglas, on 31 August 1912 at First Christian Church, Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma. Zoe Scranton died on 5 October 1953 at Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma, at age 79. She was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
     Zoe Scranton was listed as wife of George Hudson on the twelfth census of the United States Choctaw Nation, Oklahoma Indian Territory, on 4 June 1900.1
     Zoe Scranton was listed as the head of household on the thirteenth census of the United States on 16 April 1910 in Sapula, Creek County, Oklahoma. Also living in the house was, his son, George Hudson and James Upton Hudson, his daughter, Dorothy Hudson.2

     Obituary of Zoe Scranton appeared as follows: Mrs. Zoe Fate Dies; Rites Set - Services for Mrs. Zoe Hudson Fate, 79, of 1525 E. First st. an Oklahoman for more than 60 years, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Firday in Memorial Park chapel. Internment will be in Memorial Park under direction of the Whisenhunts Funeral home. Mrs. Fate died in a convalescent home Wednesday afternoon after a five-month kidney ailment. She was the wife of J.E. Fate, retired employee of the Maloney-Crawford Tank and Manufacturing Co. She moved to McAlester from her native Columbus, Kan., with her parents in 1890. She later lived at Sapulpa prior to coming to Tulsa in 1915. She was a member of the Unity church. Also surviving are two sons, Upton Hudson, 2645 S. Quebec av., accountant for the Newspaper Printing Corp., and Don Fate, 1552 S. Yorktown av; a daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Colvin, Sand Springs; a step-son, M.E. Fate, 120 N. Lewis pl; a brother, C.L. Scranton, Bokoshe; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
