The deceased was married to Earnest Fate, July 3, 1897. To this union three children were born, two of whom, Gladys and Eugene, survive their mother, the other having died in infancy. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church, Smithfield, Monday at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. N. M. Douglas, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Howard Cemetery.

     William Lutes was born on 6 November 1824 at Pittsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.1,2 He was the son of Jacob Lutz and Christianna Fredericka Mast. William Lutes married Catherine Vaughn in 1848 at Virginia. William Lutes married Mary Harris circa 1855 at Pennsylvania. William Lutes died on 6 May 1903 at Smithfield, Fulton County, Illinois, at age 78; Cause of Death was hemorage of the lungs.1,2 He was buried on 8 May 1903 at Baughman Cemetery, Smithfield, Fulton County, Illinois.1

She is also survived by her cherished sisters and brothers, Catherine Magnolia White, Joseph Magnolia and wife Ruby Bell Magnolia, Steve Magnolia and wife Hazel Chargois Magnolia, all of Baton Rouge, and Frances Magnolia Diez, of Gonzales; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
