Walter Clark Fait was listed on 25 June 1900 as a son living with Clark G. Fait on the twelfth census of the United States Keystone Twp., Dickey County, North Dakota. Walter Clark Fait Walter and Jessie took a cow or two, a bull and horse and rode the Emmigrant Train to Brody, Montana. They homesteaded between Great Falls and the Canadian Border. They were six miles from water, so Walter dug a well; finishing it in the after-noon. That night a flash flood destroyed it. They purchased a Holzman car. It was a two cycle engine bolted to the floor of a buggy with just a rod to steer it. Jessie pushed it up the hills, as Walter had conned her into believing it was too complicated for her to operate. It might have been the only Holzman in Montana. It is now in the honored place in the Montana State Museum at Great Falls, after having set outside for over twenty-five years.3

Irwin, died Sunday afternoon about 3 o'clock after a lingering illness lasting a year of better, from tuberculosis. Her health had been gradually failing for some time and last spring, in the hope of benefitting her, Mr. Irwin sold off his stock, rented his farm and took her to Hot Springs, Arkansas. Like most sufferers from this disease, she improved for a time after changing climates, but soon grew worse again and then came home to try treatment by physicians. Three months ago, or more, it was realized there was no hope for her, but she refused to give up and was hopeful to the last. Anna Fate was born May 24, 1879, a daughter of Martin and Mary Fate on the old Fate farm just south of town, now owned by J. E. Rector. In 1895 she married Charles Irwin, and to them was born one son, Earl, a young man now in high shcool. Besides the husband and son she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Mary Knock, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Estella Gerber, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Mrs. Carrie Rector, Mrs. Mary Joachim, Mrs. Emma Irwin, and George Fate of Smithfield, and Chas. Fate of Abingdon. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by the pastor Rev. E. F. Morton, and burial was in the local cemetery.
